Meta Supervisory Committee ordered to remove Ronaldo AI fake video ad

According to Decrypt, the Meta Oversight Committee on Thursday ordered the removal of an AI-generated video ad showing Brazilian football legend Ronaldo, which misled users to participate in an online game called Plinko and made false promises of earnings. The committee criticized Meta for failing to strictly enforce its anti-fraud policy, pointing out that although the video was reported and viewed over 600,000 times, it was not dealt with in a timely manner. This incident highlights the platform's poor control over celebrity AI-generated content. Previously, Jamie Lee Curtis had publicly questioned Zuckerberg over similar issues. Recently, US President Trump signed the Take It Down Act, requiring platforms to delete unauthorized AI-generated images within 48 hours to address the growing abuse of deep fakes.
